  • Morris indicated his illness is not curable and prevents him from leaving the country for extended periods.

Stephen Morris, drummer for New Order, has expressed uncertainty regarding his future with the band due to a "pretty serious" illness. He stated that he "doesn't know" if he will return to New Order.

In June, New Order confirmed that both Morris and Gillian Gilbert would not be touring with the band in the "foreseeable future" due to "personal health reasons". Morris elaborated in an interview, explaining that his health problem prevents him from leaving the country for any significant period. He also indicated that his illness is not something for which a cure is expected.

Morris, a founding member of Joy Division and New Order, is due to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame later this year alongside other members of both bands. However, he suggested he may not be able to attend the ceremony due to his health.
