Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham, 21, has led a $10m fundraise for Rezzil, a technology firm with Premier League backing. Putting coach Phil Kenyon, who has worked with golfers Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, also participated in the funding round.
Rezzil has confirmed that Bellingham's investment is part of a wider strategic partnership with the Bellingham family. Under this agreement, Rezzil will provide technology to support future digital initiatives.
The Manchester-born company, which initially pioneered virtual reality in professional football, is now focusing on "movement intelligence." As part of this expansion, Rezzil has opened a London office and another in Chicago, and plans to double its workforce to approximately 100 people.
Sion Colley of Rezzil stated that the investment provides an opportunity to scale their vision globally, working with leading teams, broadcasters, athletes, and rights holders to advance the next generation of sport. The firm's existing investor base includes the Premier League, Tennis Australia’s AO Startups, and NBA Launchpad, alongside footballers Thierry Henry, Gary Neville, Vincent Kompany, Michail Antonio, and Tyrone Mings, as well as rugby player Anthony Watson.
