Joshua Holds Key to Fury Fight, Says Promoter Warren

Promoter Frank Warren states that Anthony Joshua holds the key to the long-awaited fight against Tyson Fury, with a contract needing to be signed by the end of next week to prevent the bout from falling through.

  • Frank Warren believes Anthony Joshua is key to the fight with Tyson Fury taking place.
  • A contract must be signed by the end of next week, or the fight may fall through.
  • New York's Madison Square Garden on November 19 is the likely venue and date.

Anthony Joshua holds the key to his anticipated all-British heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury finally happening, according to promoter Frank Warren. The Queensberry Promotions boss indicated that if a contract is not signed by the end of next week, the fight, which has been a decade in the making, could fall through again.

New York's Madison Square Garden on November 19 is the likely venue and date for the bout. Warren stated that while Matchroom Sport's Eddie Hearn is reportedly firm on original financial terms for a UK fight, Fury is willing to do what it takes to face Joshua.

Warren questioned Joshua's desire for the fight, noting his recent tough bout in July. He added that Tyson Fury has been training in Miami and will be fighting in November, hopefully against Joshua. The promoter also highlighted that Netflix, with 250 million subscribers in America, is providing the money for the fight, justifying a potential overseas location despite Hearn's preference for Wembley.
