Kasabian's ninth studio album, Act III, is scheduled for release in 10 days. Frontman Serge Pizzorno offered a preview of the album from his home recording studio in rural Leicestershire.
Pizzorno described his current structured approach to songwriting, working four or five hours a day without distractions. This contrasts with the band's earlier days, where he sought inspiration through extended periods without sleep.
The album consists of 10 songs, with Pizzorno emphasising a deliberate focus on melody and hooks. He stated, "I feel like it's not a very melodic time in music," and expressed a personal yearning for powerful verses and choruses.
Kasabian has been previewing the album throughout the summer, including a headline show at London's Finsbury Park in June. If Act III reaches number one, the band will surpass Led Zeppelin's record of seven consecutive studio albums topping the charts.
