Keath Ósk announces debut solo album 'Foreword' and world tour

Keath Ósk, formerly known as Yaelokre, has announced their debut solo album, 'Foreword', set for release on 4 September. The album will feature re-recorded and reimagined songs previously released under the Yaelokre moniker.

  • Keath Ósk's debut solo album, 'Foreword', is scheduled for release on 4 September via Atlantic Records.
  • The album includes new versions of songs originally released as Yaelokre, with a more expansive sound.
  • Ósk will embark on a world headline tour starting 7 October in Europe, including a London date on 29 October.

Keath Ósk, previously known as Yaelokre, has launched a new solo chapter with the announcement of their debut album, 'Foreword', and the experimental single 'And The Hound'. The album is set to be released on 4 September through Atlantic Records.

'Foreword' will feature re-recorded and reimagined versions of songs Ósk originally released as Yaelokre. These new versions aim to push the boundaries of their sound, moving from traditional acoustic indie-folk to richer sonic landscapes with a "beguiling, desert-noir brass backdrop."

Ósk collaborated with South London-based writer, producer, and composer Jack Hardman (Good Dog) on the album, incorporating brass instruments, woodwinds, and influences from alt-pop, hip-hop, and jazz. The album will also include a cover of Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out For A Hero'.

Ósk explained that the original Yaelokre songs were written during their teenage years, and they now have the resources to realise them as intended. They described the album as "a really good way to close the first chapter of Yaelokre and introduce me coming into music in my own right."

A world headline tour is planned to begin on 7 October in Europe, with a performance at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire scheduled for 29 October. The tour will then move to North America, starting on 9 November in Orlando, Florida, and concluding on 20 December in Houston, Texas.

What this means for you: If you are a fan of Keath Ósk or Yaelokre, you can pre-order the new album and purchase tickets for the upcoming world tour.
