Former Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen has joined the ranks of investors in the fintech unicorn Flatpay. The ex-McLaren, Renault, and Haas motor racer is now a shareholder in the Danish firm, which serves over 100,000 European clients.
Magnussen, 33, stated it was an "easy decision to invest in the company and partner with them." He joins Italian football icon Paolo Maldini, who invested last year, and Orlando City player Antoine Griezmann, whose investment was announced this year. German footballer Mario Gotze was the first athlete to invest in 2024.
Flatpay CEO Sander Janca-Jensen expressed pride in Magnussen's involvement, noting that the racing driver's experience as a retailer makes him a natural fit. Magnussen's investment portfolio also includes the healthy food-to-go chain Oakberry and French football club Le Mans FC.
