Australian ultra-runner Phil Gore has achieved an unofficial record for the longest Backyard Ultra, completing 152 hours of continuous running. The endurance athlete ran a 6.71km lap every hour for six days and 15 hours in the Perth suburb of Forrestdale.

Gore's challenge, dubbed Project 168, aimed to run for a full week. He managed to complete 152 laps, each within the allotted hour, before stopping on lap 153. During the event, Gore slept for no more than 15 minutes at a time between laps.

His nutrition strategy involved a flexible diet of simple sugars like Nerds and jelly cups, alongside more substantial meals such as meat pies, Coco Pops with chocolate milk, and even a McDonald's cheeseburger. The event also served as a fundraiser, generating $285,000 for Telethon to support medical research and health services for children in Western Australia.
