Kid Cudi Defends Reuniting with Kanye West at Chicago Concerts

Kid Cudi has defended his decision to perform with Kanye West at two recent Chicago concerts, following public criticism.

  • Kid Cudi performed with Kanye West at two Chicago concerts on September 4 and 5, 2026.
  • The reunion occurred after years of public dispute between the two artists.
  • Cudi stated that West has apologised for past actions and is now dealing with mental health struggles.

Kid Cudi has addressed criticism after reuniting with Kanye West on stage during West's recent Chicago concerts. The controversial rapper performed two homecoming shows at Soldier Field on Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5, where he was joined by several collaborators, including Cudi.

Cudi appeared at the second gig, performing 'Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1', 'Ghost Town', and 'Pursuit of Happiness' with West. This reunion follows years of public dispute between the artists, which began in 2022 after West removed Cudi's contributions from his album 'Donda 2'.

New York radio personality Peter Rosenberg criticised those supporting West, referencing West's past controversial comments. Cudi responded to the criticism, stating, "That man is my brother," and adding that West has apologised sincerely and is now dealing with mental health struggles.

West's current comeback tour has faced cancellations, including London's Wireless Festival, after the UK government blocked his entry. Planned shows in Poland and Switzerland were also cancelled, a French date postponed, and an Italian show pulled due to safety concerns. Two planned gigs in St Petersburg, Russia, for October 10 and 11, have also been announced as unable to take place, despite tickets selling out quickly.
