Laurie Vincent, known as one half of the punk duo Soft Play (formerly Slaves), has launched a new band named Big Truck. The band's debut album, 'Midday At The Middleway', was released last week on Friday, August 28.
Vincent formed Big Truck with drummer Sam Coppin, guitarist Asa Thallon, and keyboardist Justin Myles. He told NME that the album is a "melting point of influences, different backgrounds and styles."
Vincent explained that his increased involvement in Soft Play's last album, 'Heavy Jelly', gave him the confidence to explore being a frontman. He also noted that Big Truck performed gigs for a year before recording, which helped build chemistry and confidence.
