Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have issued a Sunday deadline to Julian Alvarez regarding his future. The Argentina star has missed three consecutive days of training and will not be part of the squad facing Sevilla this weekend. Atletico's chief executive has stated Alvarez will "never, ever" be sold to Barcelona, but has not ruled out a move to another club before the transfer deadline. Arsenal, who consider Alvarez their top target, are reportedly monitoring the situation for a potential late move.

In other transfer news, Chelsea have agreed a £7.5m deal to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
