Germany defender Malick Thiaw is reportedly being monitored by both Liverpool and Manchester United. However, Newcastle, his current club, have no intention of selling the 25-year-old.

Elsewhere in transfer news, Fulham are expected to begin contract talks with 26-year-old defender Calvin Bassey. Bassey is said to be attracting interest from Inter Milan.

Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi, 21, is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. Former Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, 35, is in talks to sign for Serie B side Avellino.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a move for Bournemouth's English midfielder Alex Scott, 23, in January. Meanwhile, Bournemouth winger Rayan, 20, has a £130m release clause that will take effect in the 2027 summer transfer window.

Newcastle midfielder Joe Willock, 27, will be offered a new contract if he continues to perform well under Matthias Jaissle.
