Liverpool has received a significant boost with the return of Alexander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai to the starting line-up for their Premier League encounter against unbeaten Brentford. Both players had been sidelined with injuries since the international break, missing recent fixtures against Manchester City and LASK.
Manager Andoni Iraola has made five changes to the squad that secured a 6-3 victory in Austria during midweek. Isak and Szoboszlai step in for Lewis Koumas and Trey Nyonyi, while Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, and Victor Munoz also rejoin the starting XI. Ryan Gravenberch, who is suspended, and winger Rio Ngumoha are out of the team.
Further good news for Liverpool sees Cody Gakpo return to the bench, having recovered from an injury sustained last month while on international duty with the Netherlands. For Brentford, top scorer Kevin Schade is only fit enough for the bench after a shoulder injury in their 2-2 draw at Aston Villa. Former Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg starts for Brentford, as does goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher against his former club.
