Liverpool Women are looking to make an immediate impact in the new Women's Super League season, aiming to improve on their 11th-place finish from the previous campaign. The club has seen renewed positivity following a strong summer transfer window and encouraging pre-season results.
Manager Gareth Taylor, who joined late last summer, has now had a full pre-season with his team. Key new arrivals include Germany forward Vivien Endemann from Wolfsburg and 20-year-old Japan youth international Mao Itamura from Feyenoord, who was named Eredivisie player of the year last season.
Despite notable losses, including centre-back Gemma Bonner and goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, Liverpool's squad appears capable of staying in the league. The team will begin their campaign away to promoted Charlton, hoping to avoid a repeat of last season where their first league win did not come until late January.
Liverpool will play the majority of their home matches at St Helens Stadium, with three games scheduled for Anfield this season, including a derby against Everton in September.
