The London Broncos achieved a domestic second-tier treble on Sunday, defeating Doncaster 78-6 in the Championship play-off final. This victory follows a season where the club's owners, who bought the club last year, have invested heavily.
Following Wakefield Trinity's Super League title win on Saturday, London Broncos co-owner Grant Wechsel stated that Wakefield's journey from the Championship to Super League glory is now a 'blueprint' for the Broncos. He expressed strong hope that the Broncos will be a 15th Super League team in 2027, with ongoing talks with the RFL and club owners.
Wechsel indicated that club owners are largely supportive of the Broncos joining the top flight, alongside a potential deal for the Australian NRL league to buy a stake in its northern hemisphere equivalent. The club also plans to sign more NRL-quality players if they secure a Super League spot for next season.
