Lorena Wiebes of SD Worx-Protime secured her second stage victory in a row at the Lloyds Tour of Britain. The Dutch rider's win in Blackpool means she retains the green jersey and the lead in the points classification.
The second stage of the race experienced disruption when a road traffic accident ahead of the convoy caused a mid-course delay and rerouting at 17.5km. This also led to the cancellation of the second Queen of the Mountain climb.
Rival teams, such as Uno-X Mobility, are reportedly adopting alternative tactics due to Wiebes' dominance in sprints. Katrine Aalerud of Uno-X Mobility stated, "We cannot win the sprint so why should we wait and see if Lorena wins anyway."
SD Worx-Protime now holds three jerseys, with Steffi Häberlin leading the Queen of the Mountains ranking. Lidl-Trek's Fleur Moors continues to hold the young rider accolade as the race heads into a day suited for climbers in Wales.
