Luka Modric, who celebrates his 41st birthday on Wednesday, has announced his intention to continue playing for the Croatia national team. The midfielder is set to feature in upcoming Nations League fixtures, including a clash against England.
This decision aligns with the return of Slaven Bilic as Croatia's manager. Bilic, who previously managed Modric early in his international career between 2006 and 2012, expressed his delight, stating, "Of course, Luka's decision makes me extremely happy."
Modric, currently playing for AC Milan, has amassed 202 caps for Croatia since his debut in March 2006. He was part of the Croatia squad that reached the 2018 World Cup final and finished third in Qatar four years later.
Croatia's next Nations League matches are away to the Czech Republic on 26 September and Spain on 29 September. They will then host England on 3 October, with the return fixture at Wembley scheduled for 12 November.
