Defending champion Robert MacIntyre made a strong move at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, shooting a second-round 65 at Kingsbarns. This seven-under-par round propelled the Scot into a tie for ninth place.
MacIntyre is currently three strokes behind the halfway leader, Casey Jarvis of South Africa, who stands at 11 under. England's Matthew Jordan and Spain's Rocco Repetto Taylor are tied for second at 10 under, with Repetto Taylor recording the best round of the day, a 64.
MacIntyre attributed his performance to keeping it simple and favourable weather conditions. He will tee off at St Andrews on Saturday.
