A man was arrested on suspicion of being unfit through drink or drugs after a car crashed into a house in Waltham Abbey, Essex. The incident, which occurred shortly before 23:00 BST on Friday, resulted in a partial collapse of the property.
Emergency services, including police officers, paramedics, and firefighters, were called to Ninefields. Upon arrival, they found a silver Skoda lodged in the corner of the house, with smoke issuing from the vehicle and significant damage to the property.
Essex Police confirmed that a man was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment. Fire crews used a ladder to safely remove another man from the rear of the property, while a woman was also taken to hospital for a precautionary assessment.
Photos from the scene show the car inside the home, with a first-floor room and its contents having collapsed onto the vehicle's roof. The area around the property was covered in fallen bricks and was cordoned off to the public.
