A 41-year-old man has been arrested after a car being driven the wrong way down a road in Brighton collided with eight parked vehicles on Sunday, Sussex Police said.
Police responded to reports of an intoxicated man verbally abusing the public in a car on Lewes Road at about 16:50 BST. Officers later located the vehicle near The Level and attempted to speak to the man, but he drove away.
Officers pursued the car to Morley Street, where it was driven the wrong way and hit eight parked cars. Police said "tactics" were used to stop the car and detain the man, who was taken to hospital.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, failing to stop, and breaching a court injunction. No one was injured in the incident, police added.
