A six-year-old boy has died following a crash in Llanfairfechan, Conwy, North Wales Police have confirmed. Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a child just after 17:00 BST on Thursday evening.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene. A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and the boy's family is receiving support from specially trained family liaison officers.

Detective Inspector Tim Evans stated that police thoughts are with the young boy's family and friends. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses.

Multiple roads, including Pen-Y-Bryn Road and Bryn Road, were closed, and the public was asked to avoid the area.
