A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a home in Bootle, Liverpool, on 24 August, Merseyside Police said.

The man has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries, according to the force. The incident was reportedly captured on security cameras at the property.

Holly Cham, 33, a single mother-of-two who owns the home, said she was "disgusted" after watching CCTV footage of an attacker setting fire to her house. She was away with her children at the time, while her boyfriend was inside the property.

Ms Cham stated that the garage has no roof, windows are broken, and the house has smoke damage, with repairs expected to cost thousands. She also said the incident has left her unable to work, as her home-based business's stock and equipment were destroyed.
