Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has issued a "defiant" message to other club executives regarding the club being found guilty of a majority of Premier League charges, BBC Sport has been told. This message was delivered at a board meeting of European Football Clubs in Copenhagen.
Soriano reportedly vowed to fight the charges, stating that the process has a long way to run. This echoes a sentiment previously expressed by the club's chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, in a letter to fans on Saturday.
On Friday, it was announced that Manchester City had been found guilty of the vast majority of 115 charges. These accusations involved a range of rule breaches, including claims of inflating sponsorship revenue from connected companies and making other "off the books" payments to circumvent financial regulations.
