A man has been found guilty of murdering two men he met at a homeless shelter. James Desborough, 40, of Old Oak Woods, Lower Sticker, Cornwall, was convicted by a jury at Winchester Crown Court.
Desborough had previously admitted preventing the lawful burial in 2025 of 57-year-old Claudio Aquilino and 43-year-old Daniel Coleman. The court heard he dismembered their bodies, attempted to burn their remains, and hid them in woodland where he owns a cabin.
Prosecutors stated that both men were likely killed by Desborough soon after they were last seen, with Aquilino last seen on 18 April 2025 and Coleman on 3 June 2025. Desborough was seen with both men on pub CCTV in Newquay and Truro.
Desborough is due to be sentenced on Wednesday by Mr Justice Pushpinder Saini, who told him he should "be alive" to the prospect of a whole life sentence. Witness impact statements will also be read at the hearing.
In March, Desborough was sentenced to 19 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering his cellmate at Exeter Prison while on remand for this trial.
