Manchester United supporters' group, The Red Army, has announced plans to protest during Sunday's Manchester derby. The group will forgo their usual flag display in the Stretford End, opting instead to display a single banner above the players' tunnel.

The banner will read: "The way you treat us is a disgrace." This protest is a response to the club's recent investigation into ticket touting, which resulted in 685 season tickets being banned.

The Red Army stated that this message represents various fan groups and supporters negatively impacted by the club's recent actions. They also called for match-going supporters to be prioritised in the club's fan engagement process.

Manchester United's investigation identified 1,617 accounts for review due to "unusual activity." The club confirmed that bans were issued for "significant misuse of the ticketing system for financial gain," including "organised ticketing networks."

Another supporters' group, The 1958, has also called for fans to "stand united" against the "season ticket ban fiasco" and gather outside the Bishop Blaize pub at 3pm ahead of the derby.

Why this matters: The protest highlights significant fan discontent regarding Manchester United's recent actions concerning ticket touting and season ticket bans, potentially impacting the atmosphere at a major derby match.
