Manhunt Underway After Alleged Axe Attack in Victoria Leaves Three Injured

Police are searching for a man in his 50s after an alleged axe attack in Tyers, Victoria, left three people with serious to life-threatening injuries.

Three individuals have been hospitalised with injuries, some life-threatening, following an alleged axe attack in Tyers, Victoria. Police are currently conducting a search for the suspect.

According to Victoria police, the alleged attacker, who is known to the victims, arrived at an address in the Gippsland town on Saturday at approximately 12:30pm. He is believed to have attacked an elderly man and woman, along with a third person, using an axe, causing serious injuries.

The man, described as being in his 50s, reportedly fled the scene on foot. The victims were able to contact emergency services, leading to the dispatch of an air ambulance and road paramedics. All three victims received treatment at the scene.

Ambulance Victoria stated that a man in his 70s and a man in his 40s were transported to hospital in a critical condition. A woman in her 70s was also taken to hospital, described as being in a serious but stable condition.

Police launched a large-scale search for the man on Saturday and continued their efforts on Sunday. He was last seen wearing a black and mustard coloured jacket and carrying a black backpack. Police have warned that he may be armed with an axe and handsaw, urging anyone who sees him not to approach and to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
