Marsha Ramroop has been appointed as a new member of the Marine Management Organisation's Board. Her three-year appointment is set to begin on 1 November 2026, coinciding with the conclusion of Peter Judge’s second term on 31 October 2026.
The appointment was made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments, which states that all appointments are made on merit and political activity is not a factor in the selection process.
Ms Ramroop is an organisational inclusion strategist, author, and speaker, and the founder of Unheard Voice consultancy. She previously served as the inaugural Director of Inclusion and Diversity at the Royal Institute of British Architects and spent 30 years in broadcasting, including two decades as a journalist at the BBC. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee.
The Marine Management Organisation's purpose is to protect and enhance the marine environment and support UK economic growth through sustainable marine activities. It is responsible to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and manages responsibilities such as marine licensing and UK fishing fleet capacity.
