Britain's Eilish McColgan has secured her fourth victory at the London Big Half, marking a successful return to competitive racing after five months sidelined by a fractured foot. The 35-year-old Scot completed the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 54 seconds, beating last year's winner Jessica Warner-Judd by one minute and 19 seconds.
McColgan sustained the injury during the London Marathon in April, an event where she finished seventh. The injury subsequently forced her to withdraw from July's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In the men's race, Britain's Jack Rowe finished second, missing out on a fourth consecutive victory. Kadar Omar Abdullahi of Birchfield Harriers won the event in 1 hour, 1 minute, and 51 seconds.
David Weir successfully defended his title in the men's wheelchair event, winning for the fifth time in the race's nine-year history. The 47-year-old set a new course record of 46 minutes and 13 seconds, shaving 45 seconds off his previous best time. Eden Rainbow Cooper also defended her title in the women's wheelchair event, finishing in 52 minutes and 47 seconds.
