Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin is just one shot off the lead at the DP World India Championship, following a weather-disrupted opening day in New Delhi. Fellow Northern Ireland player Rory McIlroy sits three shots further back.
Denmark's Niklas Norgaard leads the field on six under par after a round of 66 at the Delhi Golf Club. McKibbin, Spain's Eugenio Chacarra, and Belgium's Thomas Detry are all tied for second on five under.
Play was halted for five hours due to lightning, which meant many competitors could not complete their first 18 holes. McKibbin, 23, recorded six birdies and one bogey in his round, putting him in strong contention.
McIlroy, a back-to-back Masters champion, is currently two under par, alongside England's Tommy Fleetwood. McIlroy is third in the Race to Dubai standings ahead of this tournament.
