A measles cluster in Adelaide has seen South Australia's total number of cases reach nine, marking the highest count in a decade. The latest case involves a woman who was infectious while spending up to 24 hours in an emergency department.
SA Health was informed of the case on Sunday afternoon, confirming its link to a cluster at Adelaide's Brighton Secondary College, where three teenagers had contracted the disease. The health agency has identified 24 exposure sites dating back a week.
Nicola Spurrier, SA's chief public health officer, stated that contact tracing is ongoing at Queen Elizabeth Hospital due to concerns about vulnerable patients and the potential for additional spread.
