Cumberland Council, Sellafield Ltd, and the Millom Town Deal Board collaborated on the project. Sellafield Ltd provided more than £3.3 million through its Social Impact, Multiplied (SiX) programme, which helped secure £20.6 million from the government for projects across Millom.
David Savage, chair of the Millom Town Deal Board, stated that this is the first project delivered through the Town Deal Regeneration Programme and represents a long-overdue investment in Millom’s future. Story Contracting carried out the restoration work, preserving the building's historic features.
When final arrangements are complete, local business owners will run The Old Bank. Their plans include a bistro, space for events, and opportunities for local artists, makers, and small businesses.
