Far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos has returned to the UK after being deported from the US by the Trump administration. US authorities confirmed his deportation on Friday, stating he "legally entered the country" in May 2019 but then "chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws."
Yiannopoulos, 41, who gained prominence in the US by promoting Donald Trump before the 2016 election, has reportedly made disparaging comments about the president, including that he is "firmly off the Trump train."
Those within the UK's right-wing ecosystem suggest Yiannopoulos may be too extreme to secure a prominent role. A source at GB News stated, "We wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole, not in a million years." It is also understood that Reform UK will not accept him into its ranks.
However, the Restore Britain party, led by former Reform MP Rupert Lowe, may be a potential option. Restore has reportedly accepted individuals considered too extreme for Reform, including Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson. Yiannopoulos has previously praised Lowe and encouraged UK hard-right activists to join Restore.
