A letter published in The Guardian on August 30, 2026, has raised concerns about Reform UK's reported social housing policy. The policy would reportedly make it harder for foreign-born UK citizens to access social housing compared to those born in the UK.
Ian Bourne, writing from London, highlighted the potential impact on his own family. He noted that his first child, born in Singapore 30 years ago to UK citizens, could be disadvantaged in securing social housing compared to their two younger siblings, who were born in the UK.
Reform UK's stance on placing foreign-born UK citizens lower on the social housing list was previously reported on August 23.
