Australia's Min Woo Lee has set a blistering pace at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, carding a bogey-free 62 to take an early lead at eight under par. His impressive round, which equals his best ever on the PGA Tour, puts him two strokes clear of the field.
Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood is firmly in contention, having shot a four-under 66 to sit four strokes behind Lee. England's Matt Fitzpatrick also finished at four under, making a birdie on the final hole.
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, aiming for a record-extending fourth Fedex Cup, endured a mixed start. After bogeying two of his first four holes, he fought back on the back nine to sign for a 68, placing him at two under par. World number one Scottie Scheffler ended his round with a birdie on the 18th to sit at five under.
Lee, who won last month's Scottish Open, played much of his round without a partner after JJ Spaun withdrew due to injury. He commented on the unusual experience, stating, "It was more just maintaining speeds and not rushing because I would just catch the group in front and wait. So I had to just slow down a little bit. It worked out."
