Comedian Mo Gilligan has stated he was once followed by six police cars and a helicopter after officers reportedly mistook him for someone else. Appearing on The Louis Theroux Podcast on Tuesday, 4 August, the 38-year-old described the incident as something he will "never forget".

Gilligan recalled that when he was pulled over, officers informed him they believed his vehicle had been stolen, a belief which proved to be incorrect. He added that some officers began to recognise him, after which "everyone just scattered".
