Blackburn Rovers midfielder Kristi Montgomery has earned his first call-up to the Scotland squad for the Nations League, stepping up from the under-21s. This promotion by new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli comes after Celtic defender Kieran Tierney and Norwich midfielder Kenny McLean dropped out of the squad.
The 22-year-old Montgomery has been a consistent presence for Tony Mowbray's Blackburn Rovers, starting all eight Championship matches this season. He joins seven other uncapped players in the 27-strong group.
Scotland will face Slovenia twice, Switzerland, and North Macedonia in the upcoming Nations League fixtures. Experienced players Scott McTominay, Che Adams, and Lawrence Shankland were also unavailable for selection.
