Netflix has reportedly committed $500 million in a new licensing agreement to expand the global reach of The Walking Dead Universe. The deal, announced by AMC Global Media on Thursday, July 30, 2026, grants Netflix co-exclusive rights to the original "The Walking Dead" series and its six spin-offs.
This multi-year agreement covers a total of 371 episodes and extends availability to new markets, including the UK, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand. While Netflix has been the exclusive US streaming home for the original series since 2011, this new arrangement means it will share streaming access with AMC+ internationally.
Starting in 2027, Netflix subscribers worldwide will also be able to stream the entire slate of spin-offs, such as "Fear the Walking Dead," "World Beyond Tales of the Walking Dead," "Dead City," "Daryl Dixon," and "The Ones Who Live." The agreement coincides with the third season of "Dead City" and the upcoming final season of "Daryl Dixon," scheduled for 2027.
