After a period where many fig fragrances were considered sugary and inferior, a new range of fig scents is emerging. These new offerings aim to restore the category's reputation.
Among the new fragrances is Tom Ford's Figue Erotique, priced at £188 for 30ml. This scent reportedly isolates fig at different stages of its life cycle, from sharp and unripe to rich and sun-drenched, and finally sugary and creamy.
Prada has introduced Infusion de Figue, available for £152 for 100ml. This fragrance is described as warm, woody, and earthy, focusing on unripened figs with a gentle sweetness and a touch of mandarin zest.
A more affordable option is Roger&Gallet's Fleur de Figuier, costing £21 for 30ml. This scent is characterised as pulpy, bright, and cheerful, featuring vibrant citrus fruits and green notes.
Diptyque's Philosykos, priced at £102 for 50ml in its eau de toilette form, is still considered a benchmark for fig fragrances.
