Apple has launched its latest Mac mini, which is the first desktop computer from the company to feature the new M6 chip. The device is available from £899, an increase from the M4 predecessor's starting price of £599.
The Mac mini M6 is described as a powerful desktop machine, offering significant speed for various tasks. It maintains the compact form factor introduced with the 2024 M4 model, measuring 12.7cm square and 5cm thick.
The price increase is attributed to a global shortage affecting memory-containing electronics. Despite this, the Mac mini M6 remains the cheapest computer Apple sells with an M-series chip.
The new model runs macOS 27 Golden Gate and includes updated Siri AI tools, which are integrated into Spotlight search and offer improved understanding and task performance. It also features Apple Intelligence for writing, proofing, and summarising.
