Newcastle could still sell Hall despite new contract

Lewis Hall, 22, could still depart Newcastle next summer, even after reportedly agreeing a new contract until 2031.

  • Newcastle may sell Lewis Hall next summer despite his reported new contract.
  • Brighton are confident of agreeing a new contract with Yasin Ayari.
  • Kaoru Mitoma's future at Brighton is uncertain, with a potential January exit.

Newcastle United may still sell England left-back Lewis Hall next summer, despite the 22-year-old reportedly agreeing a new contract with the Magpies until 2031. Hall had recently been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Brighton are confident that a new contract for Sweden midfielder Yasin Ayari, 22, can be agreed soon, with positive discussions ongoing. However, the future of Japan winger Kaoru Mitoma, 29, at Brighton is in the balance. He is unlikely to extend his contract, which expires next summer, and could make an exit as early as the January transfer window.

Chelsea are reportedly considering a return for AS Roma's France midfielder Manu Kone, 25, in January, after failing to sign him in the summer. This potential deal could also involve English winger Jamie Gittens, 22, moving to Roma. Liverpool also have plans to sign another midfielder next summer, which could push Argentina international Alexis Mac Allister, 27, further down the pecking order.

Atletico Madrid are not planning to sell Spain midfielder Alex Baena, 25, despite interest from Manchester City. Meanwhile, Manchester United and Tottenham both had representatives in Belgium on Tuesday to watch Club Brugge's German striker Nicolo Tresoldi, 22.
