The National Football League (NFL) has requested that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remove a social media video that features highlights of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins. The video, uploaded on Sunday, referenced a reported caravan of immigrants approaching the U.S. border.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the league's request on Monday. The video showed Dawkins' pregame walkout and several heavy hits, with the DHS post captioned "Our time has come."
Dawkins himself condemned the post on his X profile, stating, "Let’s be clear, I didn’t give permission for my name, image and likeness to be used by anybody."
Separately, on Sunday, campaign advertisements described as "paid for by the U.S. government" were broadcast during NFL games. These ads featured Trump warning of a "final battle" for the country.
