Nigella Lawson has taken over from Prue Leith as a judge on The Great British Bake Off. Leith, aged 86, decided to step down from the culinary competition to have holidays instead of filming during the summer.
Lawson's arrival on the show was not marked by a grand introduction, with presenter Alison Hammond welcoming her. She joins Paul Hollywood, Alison Hammond, and Noel Fielding in the tent.
The first challenge for contestants involved a chocolate stout cake, followed by a technical bake focusing on flour replacement with crushed walnuts and a strong coffee flavour. The show also featured a "self-portrait" showstopper challenge.
