Sharon Horgan's new eight-part comedy series, 'Youth', has launched on HBO Max. The first two episodes, titled 'Lockjaw' and 'Wagon Burner', are now available.
Horgan created, wrote, and stars in the series as Alex, a 50-year-old literary agent navigating dating, caring for her parents, and her son Ruari's transition into adulthood. Aran Murphy, son of Cillian Murphy, plays Ruari, and Rupert Friend appears as Alex's love interest, Patrick.
The show's soundtrack includes an original score by Jeff Cardoni. Featured songs in the initial episodes include Radiohead's 'Everything In Its Right Place', tracks by Geese and LCD Soundsystem, and Fiona Apple's 'I Want You To Love Me'. Horgan reportedly wrote Radiohead's track into the script well in advance of licensing.
New episodes of 'Youth' will be released weekly on HBO Max, with the series concluding on November 1.
