Nottingham Forest are reportedly working on a deal to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap. The 23-year-old forward has been made available for sale by Chelsea for £50m and is currently training separately from the first-team squad.
It remains unclear whether the ongoing talks between the two clubs are for a permanent transfer or a loan move. Delap was not included in Chelsea's squad for Monday's Premier League match against Fulham and lost his number nine shirt to Joao Pedro last week.
Delap's potential departure comes just over a year after his £30m move to Stamford Bridge from Ipswich Town. He ended last season with only one league goal after suffering shoulder and hamstring injuries. His arrival at the City Ground would provide competition for Chris Wood and Igor Jesus.
Chelsea are looking to sanction a number of sales and loan departures before the transfer deadline on 1 September, with 39 senior players currently on their books.
