  • Around 770 young people attended Nottingham's first Youth Guarantee Jobs Fair.
  • Over 600 vacancies were available from almost 65 businesses.
  • The event is part of a £2.5 billion government investment in youth employment support.

Nottingham's first Youth Guarantee Jobs Fair, held at Notts County Football Club's Meadow Lane Stadium, attracted approximately 770 young people. The event showcased over 600 vacancies, apprenticeships, training, and work experience opportunities from nearly 65 businesses, including Amazon, Boots, East Midlands Railways, and Puregym.

Attendees received advice on job searching, application completion, and interview preparation. Workshops were also conducted, with Google providing a session on using AI for CV enhancement and career planning.

The Jobs Fair is part of the Government's wider Youth Guarantee initiative, a support package backed by a £2.5 billion investment aimed at helping young people build career paths. Similar events have already taken place in Blackpool, Glasgow, Cardiff, London, and Leeds, leading to over 1,000 young people securing jobs, work experiences, or training opportunities.

Minister for Employment Andrew Western stated that these fairs help young people take their first step into employment by connecting them with employers and live vacancies.
