Property platform Openmoove has committed to providing material information free of charge, ensuring no cost is passed on to either agents or consumers. This policy applies to all sellers onboarded to its platform.
The company stated that this move is in response to the government’s Home Buying and Selling Reform Roadmap, which was published in June. The roadmap outlines reforms aimed at increasing the use of upfront information and digitisation within the home-moving process.
Material information is delivered through Openmoove’s existing integrations with agency CRM systems, including Rex, Street, Loop, and Apex27, which became active in July. Integrations with Alto and Reapit are also planned.
Ross McKenzie, co-founder of Openmoove, argued that material information should be considered a compliance requirement rather than a product sold to consumers. McKenzie stated, “Material information is a compliance obligation. It is a given, not a product.” He added that the company prefers to remove this cost and earn revenue through its communication app product.
