Oscar Wilde's 'De Profundis', a letter written to his ex-lover after being imprisoned for homosexuality, has been adapted into a monologue and is currently being staged by the Berliner Ensemble. The production is running at the Coronet Theatre in London.
The adaptation, which explores themes of torment, is performed by Jens Harzer in German with English surtitles. Directed by Oliver Reese, the performance is described as an anguished and gripping portrayal of the artist's despair.
The production will conclude its run at the Coronet Theatre on October 7.
