Japanese punk band Otoboke Beaver have apologised after guitarist Yoyoyoshie threw her guitar into a crowd during a show in Osaka, striking and injuring a fan. The incident, which occurred at Umeda Club Quattro in April, resulted in the audience member being hospitalised and requiring seven stitches.

The band posted on Instagram today (August 11), expressing their apologies for the accident and wishing the injured person a full recovery. They acknowledged their responsibility for the incident and offered their deepest apologies.

Otoboke Beaver also stated that their handling of the situation had added to the fan's distress, citing a delay in both their direct apology and public statement due to issues with staff coordination and follow-up response. The injured person received treatment for a forehead laceration and a cervical sprain, and the band noted they had also caused significant emotional distress.

The band pledged to continue responding in good faith during the fan's recovery. The Osaka show was one of three farewell dates for drummer Kahokiss, who has since left the band for maternity leave, with former Shonen Knife drummer Leo joining the line-up.
