The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an investigation into "discipline and conduct" during the team's ongoing tour of England. A spokesperson for the PCB confirmed the inquiry on Monday, 7 September 2026.
As part of the investigation, two players reportedly had data from their mobile phones captured by PCB security officials. This is understood to have occurred following the team's 194-run defeat in the second Test at Lord's.
The inquiry follows the removal of seven players from the original touring party last week, after Pakistan fell 2-0 down with one Test remaining. Among those released from the squad was Imam Ul Haq, who did not bat in either innings of the Lord's defeat due to a calf injury.
Amir Mir, the PCB head of communications, stated on X that the board is reviewing media reports concerning discipline and conduct internally, handling matters according to standard procedures. The precise nature of any potential wrongdoing and a timeline for the investigation have not yet been announced.
In addition to the current investigation, nine players were fined during Pakistan's recent tour of the Caribbean. This was reportedly due to a group breaking away from restricted areas to watch the Fifa World Cup final during a warm-up match.
