Paragon Bank has completed a £3.8m development finance facility to convert Chartist House, a historic office building in Bath city centre, into 15 private apartments. This marks the lender's second deal with ORM Developments.
The facility will fund the conversion of the building on Trim Street, which is located within the Bath Conservation Area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scheme is estimated to have a gross development value of approximately £6.2m upon completion.
Chartist House, originally designed as Georgian townhouses in the early 18th century before becoming offices, will be restored to residential use, offering one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2026, with the first apartments expected to launch in September 2027.
