A pigeon has hatched two chicks in a Bedford woman's makeup bag, which was located on a bathroom shelf. Mimmy Stranger discovered the nest, complete with twigs and sticks, upon returning home from a trip.
Stranger named the mother pigeon Pidgey, and the two chicks, described as "feisty", were christened Pluck and Norris. Pidgey and her mate, Keith, are now raising their brood in the bathroom.
Ms Stranger, 30, an artists and repertoire representative in the music industry, stated the chicks are now "really big" but "easily spooked". She has covered the area with pads due to the mess made by the birds. She continues to use her bathroom but showers at her gym for the pigeon family's privacy.
Ms Stranger hopes that Pidgey, Keith, Pluck, and Norris will fly out of the bathroom window within a few weeks. The RSPB has stated that it is illegal to remove an active bird nest and chicks must be allowed to leave before any action is taken.
